Korean movie 'Ashfall' is released!
Two locally-made new releases, “Ashfall” and “Start-up” topped the weekend box office in South Korea, beating “Frozen 2.”
South Korean singer and actress Bae Suzy attended the ‘Ashfall’ press conference on December 17, wearing an all-black feminine outfit.
Suzy wore a trench coat from ALEXANDER MCQUEEN and a black mini skirt. She elevated her look with her black knee-high boots.
Ashfall (Korean: 백두산; RR: Baekdusan), also known as: Mount Paektu, is a 2019 South Korean action film directed by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, starring Lee Byung-hun, Ha Jung-woo, Ma Dong-seok, Bae Suzy and Jeon Hye-jin. The film was released in December 2019 in South Korea.
A volcano on Baekdu Mountain suddenly erupts. Pandemonium ensues on the Korean peninsula, with more eruptions predicted in the area.
To prevent another disaster, Jeon Yoo-kyung (Jeon Hye-jin) plans an operation based on a theory by Professor Kang Bong-rae (Ma Dong-seok). He had has studied Baekdu Mountain and its possible eruptions.
Jo In-chang (Ha Jung-woo) is the captain of a special forces team. He is tasked to take part in the operation, which holds the fates of South and North Korea in the balance. Jo In-chang contacts Lee Joon-pyeong (Lee Byung-hun) who is part of the Ministry of People's Armed Forces of North Korea. Meanwhile, Jo In-Chang's pregnant wife Choi Ji-young (Bae Suzy) is alone in Seoul. She struggles to survives against the disaster.
Suzy, or Bae Su-ji, is a South Korean actress and singer. She debuted as a member of K-pop girl group Miss A under JYP Entertainment and has since focused on her foray into the acting scene. Her notable television shows include Uncontrollably Fond (2016), While You Were Sleeping(2017), and the recent Vagabond (2019).
