Blue is a bright and refreshing color that literally shouts Summer. The colors that go best with blue; ones that would make it pop and bring out its vibrancy are gray, beige and white. As you can tell, they are all on the neutral side.
You can choose a beige perhaps subtly printed bodycon dress and wear a blue shrug or cardigan over it.
Another option would be a bright blue tank top to go with white or beige high waist pants.
You can also go for blue and gray prints.
Pink, we can all agree, is a universally flattering color for women. Now there are a million shades of pink that you can play around with. Depending on the undertone, pinks can be warm toned or cool toned.
Warm toned shades, that is, ones that are more on the red or orange side, go very well with blue and white. For example, a simple bright pink shirt can be paired with blue denim jeans.
Cool toned shades; ones that are more on the purple side go well with whites as well. For example, a mauve pink pair of pants can work amazingly well with a white graphic T-shirt.
Then there are pink shades with a neutral undertone; they look best with black.
Purple is another feminine and flattering color that suits everyone. Its summer version is mostly lavender or lilac. It is indeed a rather easy shade to mix and match with. It goes with both of the primary neutral shades of black and white. And it also goes with blue.
We all know summers are made for denims. So you can pair a cute purple top with a cute pair of denim blue distressed shorts.
Or you can go for a purple off-shoulder top to go with a pair of white shorts.
For a more formal look, you can choose a purple button-down shirt inserted into a black pencil skirt.
Yellow is one of the brightest colors that we get to wear in Summer. Unlike, the other feminine colors, yellow is a solid warm-toned color, with all its shades on the warm side. Hence, it pairs well with browns and whites in terms of neutrals.
For example, you can wear bright yellow or mustard yellow dress with brown boots.
You can also play with the patterns here; stripes with plain or printed.
Then, of course, there is blue. You can always wear blue denim jeans or shorts with any shade of yellow.
